How it's actually detected

BTC moves are watched live from the mempool at a size threshold, Ethereum flows are checked against 22 known addresses across six major exchanges, and Hyperliquid trades are flagged only when a single trade is bigger than 99% of that pair’s own recent trades (and at least $100,000) — so “whale alert” means an exchange inflow/outflow or a genuinely abnormal trade, never just a big round number. Hyperliquid big trades are the busiest part and have their own switch, so you can keep Bitcoin and exchange flows while dropping them.

On by default — turn off any time: /alerts whale off
